Hi, my name is Elia K. I am a current 8th grader at BMS Middle School. I am also a Cadette in Girl Scouts. Being a Cadette means that I am able to do a community service project where am to solve a problem in my community, its called a Silver Award. As a former student at Neil Armstrong, one thing I really enjoyed was indoor recess. But, the only problem was that there weren’t many different types activities to do. My goal for my Silver Award is to give Neil Armstrong a wide variety of games, and activities for Indoor recess. Below is my Wishlist so you can help me accomplish my Silver Award!

Indoor Recess Classroom Needs
Please keep in mind that the below links are some of the ideas that myself and the teachers of Neil Armstrong have specifically picked out. While the links below are the ideas, we welcome any purchase of these items from various places, not only amazon. When I surveyed the staff, they chose and indicated these items specifically they believe the kids will like! Also, if you have any games that you and your family love playing, we would love to have those too! We just ask that they are newly bought, and that they are games that 1st – 5th graders (5-11 year olds) would be able to play in short periods of time (around 20minutes).

My Girl Scout journey

Besides just my Silver Award, I have also completed a Bronze Award. I built bird houses, specifically for Robins, and sent them to Scott County Park. I have gone to Adventureland twice for selling over 700 packages of cookies. I have also been apart of 2 different troops since I’ve joined, my third with the current troop I am in now, 1886 in Bettendorf, Iowa. I have been in scouting for almost 10 years, I started when I was in Kindergarten at Trinity Lutheran School in Davenport Iowa where my Grandma was one of my very first Scout Leaders. I have successfully completed all required training and am a PA, (Program Aid) so I am able to help younger scouts and lead at a variety of events.
